Jong Pairez is a Tactical Media practitioner and Citizen's Journalist. And since he himself is a foreign migrant in Tokyo most of his works are stories of Migrant Workers and adventures/misadventures of Filipino Diaspora. Pairez has produced short digital video documentaries and 8mm film productions that were mainly produced between Tokyo and Manila.
In May 2008, he joined the weeklong media camp organized by EngageMedia that was participated by FOSS Software Developers and Internet Video Activists from Southeast Asia. The media camp was held in Indonesia under the tutelage, “Transmission Asia Pacific”.
Pairez is currently working in Japan as a Day Laborer to make ends meet and to independently fund his projects.
